Hospices today face government scrutiny unlike at any time in the past. CMS’s enhanced enforcement efforts target fraudulent actors, but reputable and quality hospices invariably get caught in the government’s wide net. CMS’s efforts include more intense use of long-standing audit, review, and revocation tools, as well as new tools such as the Provisional Period of Enhanced Oversight and Expanded Prepayment Review. In this webinar, Husch Blackwell’s Hospice, Home Health, and Palliative Care Team provides the latest information on CMS’s efforts, including the processes employed by CMS and its contractors, the areas that are targeted, and how providers can prepare for and respond to those efforts.
